Use & Update Anti-Virus Software
All networked computers must run Antivirus software. For more information read the Antivirus Policy. Computers without updated Antivirus software can be infected with a virus or worm within seconds of connecting to the network. We have a site license for Symantec Antivirus that is free for every Windows computer on campus.
Always use the latest version of the software and update the definitions daily before retrieving your email. Scan all files on your computer weekly. Beware of virus hoaxes and do not forward messages that advise you to forward to everyone you know. Infected computers must be removed from the network until cleaned. If you suspect you have a virus, contact IT Support Services at 862-1302 or 862-1206.
Security Response provides the Roanoke-Chowan enterprise with world-class
analysis and protection from viruses, blended threats, security risks and vulnerabilities.
